‘Tilt-Shift Maker’ in essence, photographs of real things or places that have been modified through a process called 'filter' that will transform them, ideally, look like they are photos of a 3D model in miniature. There are various other things you can do with it, but it is the primary function it was designed for, and it does so quite well minimal muss and fuss.
The process itself is quite simple, as with most other programs of this kind. All processing is done online and none of your photos stored online anywhere once you get the finished product so you do not need to download or install anything and you also do not need to worry about your photos in the cyber space to roam unsupervised.
To start, you must select a photo. You can use photos from your personal collection or even use the URL from the one posted on the web. I have found that the best job with the Tilt-Shifting is from the city scapes, should be taken out of the corner. There are examples of photos on the site that will give you a good idea of the best kind of image to use, but you really can use whatever you want. Even an abstract image can be processed with the Tilt-Shift, but they are a completely different story and will not come out the same way that the city scapes or other physical objects photograph will.
Once you have your photo, it's just a matter of following the onscreen instructions for uploading, where it is stored temporarily, and then set the filter options until you get satisfied with your preview. At that point you can then save the finished product to your computer and then send it to anyone you want in any way you want or even load it into any art program (such Psykopaint or Gimp) to manipulate further. The advantage of having an online photo editing like this, of course, is that you can do it from anywhere and you do not need to get a separate software installed for only one filter, even though the complex and powerful. There are some features that you can use for free, and they have several options that you will only be able to use if you register but it is completely optional.
Overall, I was quite impressed and pleased with this program and while I would like to see the mobile version, it does not really con right or downside. Given that there is no cost and install anything on your computer, it is loaded with pros and cons for less. Go take pictures of the outside of your house and see what you can do with it!
