PBS Parents Play & Learn (free) is an application for parents who want more ways to teach young children their basic skills. This application provides a variety of games and real-life activities that parents can play with their children wherever they go.
This is a dream come true for parents who are always running errands and need to keep their little ones entertained. It also encourages parents to start teaching their babies early, not just to calm them with Angry Birds or TV shows.
PBS Parents Play & Learn is available for free on the Apple App Store and Amazon Appstore for Android phones and tablets. This review reflects iPhone app.
Anywhere Learning OpportunitiesEach set of real-life activities themed around a familiar location, such as a playground, a restaurant, or even a bathtub. For example, under the theme "restaurant" there are mini games your child can play on a device that coincide with the theme.
Under real-life game is a list of activities that parents can do while waiting for their meal in a restaurant. This hands-themed activities to encourage parents to take advantage of every moment they have and turn it into a learning experience for their children. Activities include shows the words on the signs while in the car, determining an animal larger or smaller at the zoo, and trace the letters in the bathtub. Activities equalized in the baby stage, toddlers, and preschoolers, so there were activities for children ranging from one to five years.
Every so often a notification will come up with new activities that parents can do with their children, helping parents mix of activities and keep their kids' interest.
Mini-games that are provided in the app help learning early reading skills such as letter identification, rhyming and vocabulary, as well as some of the math skills such as counting, identifying patterns, and estimate (putting different-sized toy in a box right). Children can count the number of letters in words, determining the toy box will adjust, or clean the toys according to their color.
The interface is simple enough for the two years to navigate, and the graphics are bright, funny, and has a Blues Clues feel to them (you can never go wrong with that).

Overall, PBS Parents Play & Learn is a fantastic app for parents on the go, and that's why he won an Editor's Choice award.
Children will surely reap the benefits in the long term if the parents carry out the activities suggested in everyday applications. They are easy and simple to do, even when you are running errands, in the restaurant, or sitting at home, and they were creative enough to keep your child's interest.
The game is within reach for toddlers aged two to five, and simple math and reading skills woven into the game will get them involved.
